I work primarily in philosophy of mind, philosophy of perception, and aesthetics. I also have some interests in phenomenology. I have written on the character and content of perceptual experience and on the ways in which we experience pictures, photographs, and other artworks. In my most recent work, I explore pictorial and photographic experience, the perception of atmospheres, multisensory aesthetic experience, and the ways in which photographic technologies can shape both aesthetic experience and episodic memory.
